Jo-Anne sums up 55 + years, a life time of love for horses and the equestrian sport, especially in helping improve the health and the quality of life of persons and horses with challenges, to have a substantial long-term impact, in the lives of those she serves.

“Even today as I mount a horse I still feel as excited as I did as a 12 year old!”

Since 1990 she and her husband, and a dear friend founded the Northern Lights Therapeutic Riding Association. As administrator and program director she grew the program into training for riders, horses and a center for training volunteers and instructors through national certification.

NEW to NLTRA

Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM): The theory and application of Traditional Chinese Medicine. Jo-Anne has recently graduated and is a Certified Equine Acupressure Practitioner accredited by the Tallgrass Animal Acupressure Institute. She combines Equine Acupressure and Equine Musculoskeletal Unwinding.

Specialties: Equine & Canine Acupressure

The initial intent of acupressure is to maximise performance physically and emotionally. Acupressure will prevent and fend-off any potential internal or external invasion that could lead to illness. It does not replace essential veterinary care. Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) focuses on health rather that illness. It can help with digestion, edema, ligaments and so much more. It can help with fear, separation anxiety, excess …

Managing health physically and emotionally, acupressure-massage is safe, non-invasive, and deceptively gentle, yet powerful method through the collected medical knowledge for the prevention, identification and treatment of disease.

Preventive care: For our family our horse’s, dog’s and cat’s

Acupressure has been proven to:

  • Strengthen muscles, tendons, ligaments, joints and bones

  • Release natural cortisone to reduce inflammation and swelling

  • Resolve injuries more readily by increasing blood flow to remove toxins

  • Release endorphins to increase energy and reduce pain

  • Decrease recovery time from and injury or illness

  • Enhance mental clarity and calm required for focus in training and performance

When there is any imbalance, there is a disruption in function that can cause ill health.

When the body’s fundamental, vital substances of chi, blood and body fluids are al flowing and working in dynamic, harmonious balance, only then we have health.

We recognize a condition; we do not diagnose a condition

We remain within our scope as licensed Acupressure Practitioners

When it is beyond our scope we strongly recommend a vet!

What’s occurring internally will manifest externally
