Equine & Canine Acupressure
Managing health physically and emotionally, acupressure-massage is safe, non-invasive, and deceptively gentle, yet powerful method through the collected medical knowledge for:
The Prevention, identification, and treatment of disease. The initial intent of acupressure is preventive and to fend-off any potential internal or external invasion that could lead to illness. Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) focuses on health rather that illness. It can help with digestion, edema, ligaments and so much more. It does not replace essential veterinary care.
Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM)
Jo-Anne Chevalier has graduated and is a Certified Equine Acupressure Practitioner accredited by the Tallgrass Animal Acupressure Institute. She combines Equine Acupressure and Equine Musculoskeletal Unwinding.
For our family our horses, dogs, and cats for preventive and for chronic care
Acupressure has been proven to:
• Strengthen muscles, tendons, ligaments, joints, and bones
• Release natural cortisone to reduce inflammation and swelling
• Resolve injuries more readily by increasing blood flow to remove toxins
• Release endorphins to increase energy and reduce pain
• Decrease recovery time from and injury or illness
• Enhance mental clarity and calm required for focus in training and performance
We recognize a condition; we do not diagnose a condition. We remain within our scope as licensed Acupressure Practitioner. When it is beyond our scope, we strongly recommend a vet!
Traditional Chinese Medicine was discovered in 1000 BC. Traditional Chinese Medicine functions on the principle that the body is an integrated, energetic structure and an imbalance anywhere affects the entire system. The main belief behind of this type of medicine is that our bodies can heal themselves we just have to nudge them back towards balance.
Acupressure is a form of TCM that aims to clear blockages in the energetic channels throughout the body by applying light pressure to acupoints to restore the harmonious flow of Chi. The body’s Chi can be disrupted, weakened, or blocked if there is imbalance between the pairs of yin and yang organs or between the Five Elements. There are many categories of acupressure points, some that are more powerful, some govern regions or systems of the body, and others that (re)connect organ systems.
Imbalances can display as: behavioural problems such as separation anxiety, difficulty concentrating, or aggression; physical problems such as joint pain, digestive issues, itchy skin, or other chronic wellness issues.
Love and passion for animals was innate, it was present in me from birth. This led to a lifelong path and career in the equine and canine care.

Facebook: Northern Lights Therapeutic Riding Association (please view our website via Facebook attachment) Many of my clients come to me because they have exhausted all other options, or they don’t feel comfortable with the options their vet gave them; choose between an expensive surgery or a lifetime of medication. I understand the struggle of trying Western medicine and not getting any answers or the answer you were hoping for.
